Are you carrying yourself in such a way that does not embarrass you in front of others? A poem is an attempt to balance whether to divulge your deepest feelings or to keep a safe distance. The texts chosen for this book came from different years. They are not placed in chronological order, but arranged so that they both complement and contradict each other.

It is about human experiences of deep love, loss and grief, living the good life and belief in God. This compilation can make the reader feel various emotions-the poems may move the reader, bring a smile to their face, irritate them, or console them. For over 50 years, Roel Pomp has written texts as a pastor in a church and as a publicist for magazines. These are mostly about his experiences in the workplace at Hoogovens as a member of several peace movements, as well as some storytelling about his early years during the World War II. Publications include: Along the Edge of the Church (1980) and Voice in the Night (2007).

Over the years, he wrote poems coming from another layer of consciousness-more intimate, intuitive and closer to the source. Some of these texts were put together in this volume.
